Agronomy that farms with you

Two decades of growing with growers

Matt Gosling founded Premium Ag before the 2003 season with a strong work ethic and a simple belief: agronomic advice should be independent, research-backed, and specific to each farm. The company grew quickly.

In 2010, Andrew Clements joined as a partner on a mutual friend’s referral, bringing international grain trading experience and a fresh agronomic perspective from European agriculture. Together, they built Premium Ag into what it is today: a precision agronomy and research firm where data-driven decisions replace blanket recommendations.

Over two decades, the business offerings have evolved, but the focus has sharpened: precision agronomy, variable-rate technology, 4R nutrient stewardship, and applied field research are the core of what Premium Ag delivers. They stay invested in new technology, conduct their own ground research, and keep clients updated through regular newsletters, because a well-informed grower makes better decisions.

Matt Gosling Founding Partner / Agrologist

Fourth-generation farmer in Wheatland County, Matt founded Premium Ag in 2003 and still farms acres of his own, learning on them to become a better agronomist. Farming has always been a passion, and Premium Ag lets him farm full-time vicariously through clients. Twenty years of entrepreneurship have taught him that the best agronomy happens when you’re alongside the grower through every decision. He looks forward to another twenty years helping farm clients thrive in an increasingly complicated farming business environment.

Andrew Clements Founding Partner / Agrologist

Andrew studied Agriculture at Nottingham University in England, traded grain for Dalgety, and held a Grain Director position with ConAgra before moving to Canada in 2006. After working with Pioneer in Lyalta, he started his own company and began teaming up with Premium Ag in 2009, becoming a partner shortly after. He specializes in grain marketing services and has found the similarities and differences between European and Western Canadian agriculture deeply rewarding. He brings an international perspective that few local consultants can match.

Gurdeep

Gurdeep Hehar Research Scientist

Born into a farming family in Punjab, India, Gurdeep earned his Bachelor’s from Punjab Agricultural University and his Master’s from Auburn University in the U.S. After working as a research assistant in Bayer Crop Science’s canola breeding department, he joined Premium Ag in 2018. His work spans variable seed rate research, machine learning algorithms for management zone delineation, and multispectral drone sensing for heat and water stress in crop varieties. A consistent learner driven by the practical application of advanced research to real field conditions.
